Getting your hands on a pet
Now, when you think about getting a pet to make you feel not so lonely, you can head to the market and hope that the salesman has gathered Three different eggs for you to buy.
i reccomend buying one, as generally it can be hard to take care of multiple pets with different needs.
My quide will also show you a high quality image of the eggs that hatch certain pets,so if you want to have a demon monster flying around or a fungal toad, you can choose now.
To hatch your to-be pet, you require some saline, i believe your ship's medbay should have multiple bags of that sodium chloride infusion ready for use.
hatch your little buddy and then based on its shape and nickname, take a look on the specific section on this quide.
( NOTE: sometimes you can find a mildly "sus" box on the board of your ship, this specific box often has either a baby crawler ( smash immediately, it isnt your friend and wont get diplomatic), or a random small huggable creature that will stay with you.
Keeping your pet alive.
Here i explain what a pet needs to survive.
now i will copy pages from the massive book named *Wiki* to give you all some technical tips.
"Every Pet needs to eat to relinquish their Hunger, which increases by 0.03% every second. At 30% Hunger, Pets become hungry and the Hunger icon will appear above their head to notify the crew that they need feeding. The player can feed them by dropping an appropriate food item on the ground and the tamed creature will approach and consume it immediately. It stops requiring food when Hunger is below 30%."
if fully fed will starve in 104 minutes.
"There are three Pet Food types that Pets can consume: type 1, type 2, and type 3."
"the pets also have a happiness meter, play with it or feed it to keep it happy."
keeping your little pal happy also ensures *higher quality item production* .
the lower Sections will help you with specific pets, what they want to eat and what you can do with them.
the Peanut
Some highly intelligent individuals would recognise this thing as a neck snapping statue, i assure you it doesnt do that.
The peanut will enjoy any and all types of fruit, but also saline.
The peanut will also drink blood, like a dracula!
It will also wear a cool cape on halloween, spooky.
Items and resources you may get from a peanut simply living in your deathtrap submarine.
When the peanut doesnt feel too well, you most likely will get Poop. At 50% Happiness and beyond, it may produce the Mucus Ball. At 80% Happiness and beyond, there is a 15% chance it will lay the Strange Egg, which can be deconstructed for materials or used to hatch another Peanut.
All produced items are dropped on the ground from the respective Pets, which can be harvested simply by picking them up.
I reccomend keeping in mind how the specific eggs look like for specific pets.
the PsiloToad
The psilotoad looks like a slug with some Toad feautres.
Its shell looks like its made from fungus and it also has a tail.
On halloween it wears the wizard hat.
This thing will eat all of your fruits and vegetables, but it wont say no to a little ethanol and saline.
when you have fed this thing well enough, it will create items for you.
it creates Poop fed when fed enough. At 50% Happiness and beyond, it may produce the Hallucinogenic Bufotoxin. At 80% Happiness and beyond, there is a chance it will lay the Strange Egg, which can be deconstructed for materials or used to hatch another Psilotoad.
The Orange Boy
(alternative name: the good boy)
The Orange Boy looks like some kind of a crustacean with big flaps for limbs.
On halloween, the orange boy will wear the glorious Sheriff Hat.
(personal bias, but i think orange boy is the best pet,)
Now, on to what the good boy likes to eat:
Pomegrenade and Raptor Bane
Aluminum, Copper, Iron, Lead, Tin, Titanium, Steel Bar, and Titanium-Aluminum Alloy.
Medical: Saline.
Looks like it quite likes to chew on steel.
When well-fed, the Orange Boy will start producing some items, most commonly a pile of Poop. At 50% Happiness and beyond, it may produce the Chitin Chunk. At 80% Happiness and beyond, there is a 15% chance it will lay the Strange Egg, which can be deconstructed for materials or used to hatch another Orange Boy.
the cthulhu
The Cthulhu possesses an octopus-like head whose face is a mass of feelers, though its body is of a dragon with a pair of wings and a tail. This is the only Pet that floats by flapping its wings instead of undulating along the ground like other Pets' sluggish movement.
For Halloween, it holds a Jack-o'-Lantern Trick-or-Treat basket in its arm.
Unlike other Pets, the Cthulhu is mute, making no sounds whatsoever as it has no audio.
it eats pomegranade, somehow consumes ethanol, and slurps all the saline you got.
i will be honest, i would like it if pets didnt remind me that i am living at the bottom of the ocean.
it poops and can lay an egg, but no unique drops from this thing.
